10 Encouraging Verses To Help You Through Finals
I couldn't talk about it without crying.
It was finals week the first semester of my Senior year. There had been some miscommunication about my approved Field Study and with one semester left, my professor was saying I might have to enroll in a summer session to finish my degree. The horror! I was supposed to be graduating! I was supposed to be getting married after said graduation! I was not supposed to be sticking around Blacksburg and finishing my Field Study. Suddenly, all of my plans for the future hinged on that one professor and that one class. Talk about stress!
Thankfully, after lots of prayer and with a little help from the higher ups, my Field Study plans were approved and I was able to graduate as planned and marry the love of my life just two months later.
I may have graduated some time ago, but living in a college town and working in college ministry means that the stress of finals is still very real for those around me.
If you're in the agonizing throes of finals week I wanted to offer a little bit of encouragement to help get you through!
2 Corinthians 12:9 "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."
Psalm 55:22 "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall."
Psalm 139:16 "...All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
2 Corinthians 4:18 "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Psalm 61:2 "From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
2 Thessalonians 3:16 "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you."
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God."
I hope you rest in the knowledge that God holds your future. Nothing is impossible for him. Praying for all of you college students as you enter exam week. Have something specific you could really use prayer for? Send me an e-mail or leave a comment below!
