GIVEAWAY: The Art of Losing Yourself

GIVEAWAY: The Art of Losing Yourself

We're on week 3 of my month of giveaways in honor of my birthday!  I kind of feel like Oprah, "You get a book! And YOU get a book! EVERYBODY gets a book!" Except, unlike Oprah, I can't really afford to give away books to all my readers, but this week I CAN give away one copy of Katie Ganshert's The Art of Losing Yourself!

Katie Ganshert is quickly rising to the top of my list of favorite Christian authors!  She writes the type of flawed and relatable characters that stick with you throughout the day and make you eager to keep reading.  The Art of Losing Yourself has a level of raw emotion not often seen in Christian fiction and I find that so refreshing!  Ganshert deals with the topics of infertility, miscarriage, and broken relationships with truth, honesty and grace.  I love that her books don't all end with the picture perfect happily ever after, but they do end with hope.

Here's what you can look forward to:

Every morning, Carmen Hart pastes on her made-for-TV smile and broadcasts the weather. She’s the Florida panhandle’s favorite meteorologist, married to everyone’s favorite high school football coach. They’re the perfect-looking couple, live in a nice house, and attend church on Sundays. From the outside, she’s a woman who has it all together.  But on the inside, Carmen Hart struggles with doubt. She wonders if she made a mistake when she married her husband. She wonders if God is as powerful as she once believed. Sometimes she wonders if He exists at all. After years of secret losses and empty arms, she’s not so sure anymore.

Until Carmen’s sister—seventeen year old runaway, Gracie Fisher—steps in and changes everything. Gracie is caught squatting at a boarded-up motel that belongs to Carmen’s aunt, and their mother is off on another one of her benders, which means Carmen has no other option but to take Gracie in.

Also, I highly recommend Katie's YA series, The Gifting.  I'm typically not a fan of dystopian romance novels, but these? Could. not. put. them. down. Seriously, if you have a teen, or even if you don't, go read these! They really make you think and would bring up some great topics of discussion between you and your kiddos. You can check out Katie's other books here.

Y'all come back now! Next week is the final giveaway and you don't want to miss it!
